Finally........... Something

In the past few days, I have discovered card making challenges. My first one was at Jaya ji's blog. I was so excited to make the card. It was as if a child was given a candy. I couldn't wait to finish it. I found Sir Stampalot challenge blog through Brenda's . The topic for February is " All creatures big and small. I did a lot of thinking to make something for this challenge. I wanted to use quilling. So thought of making a quilled butterfly. But it was a disaster. Then I used spellbinders butterfly die and made this card. But I wasn't happy with it. I like it, but it's not upto the mark to enter a challenge.So I decided to make a quilled peacock. I used another quilled peacock , which I had made long time back,as a guide. But then I surfed the other entries in the challenge and was so much awed by the talent out there that I dropped the idea. How to Make Paper Mache Pulp

Actually I wanted to write a post on making different kinds of paper mache items. But right now I don't have pictures of the things I made and am too busy to make anything new and then take a snap and post it here. On the other hand, I was feeling guilty that I haven't posted for so many days here, though I talked about crafter's block , it didn't do anything to lift my spirits and send me to my craft table. Any ways here I am sharing with you some methods to make paper mache pulp. 1. Fuller's earth : This is my favourite technique. Soak newspapers in a bucket for about 2 weeks. Change water every now and then. Take out the papers, put them on floor and pound them with something heavy. I use stone. When the mash is fine, add fuller's earth and mix it properly. I have been MIA from the blog for a long time, but I have been busy (creatively speaking). I have started new hobbies ; cooking, gardening and crocheting. When I started learning crochet I took up a very big project and instantly regretted it. It was the Harry Styles inspired crochet cardigan that I saw on tiktok. I started crocheting and didn't know what I am doing. But finally finished it. It is far from perfect but Ananya promised me that she liked it a lot :) Since then I have already made crochet hat for my brother ( Ananya is going to gift him when she visit India in July), crochet scrunchies, crochet earrings and two crochet bags.
