Quilled egg Spring card with stamped flowers

I have used uniko stamps flower power 1 to make these flowers. Quilled the egg in pastel colors. First I cut the egg base from spellbinders egg die, made the outline with on the edge quilling and then filled the egg with quilled shapes and beehive quilling. The yellow background  has come out darker than it really is. This is my first quilled Easter card and I am thinking of giving it to my daughter's teacher. I have quilled another egg, which I will make into a card for the teaching assistant.

I am entering this card in the following challenges :

Quilled Typography Monogram I

I am learning quilled typography now a days. Today I want to share quilled monogram I. I have made this monogram for a very special lady. She is a second mother to me.Lots of things in my life, I learned  from her. She truly symbolises the saying, " Friends are the Family You Choose".

Though In the last twelve years, we have hardly met four-five times and talked on phone even less, But she is always in my thoughts. Her name starts with the letter I so I made the quilled monogram. We are visiting India in Easter Holidays, then I will gift her this canvas.

Graphic 45 Inspired Book Box Recycle Craft

I have a couple of book boxes that I bought from TK MAXX. But the idea, to make a book box, never occured to me till I watched a video where the crafter decorated the graphic 45 book box. Bless YouTube for the "suggested videos", and I landed on a tutorial which showed how to make the book box. Here is my first attempt made from coco pops snack bar box.

The second one, I made from some scrap pieces of a kids craft supplies box.
It was again a haphazard try. But I am pretty pleased with the result, though my daughter says that next time you should try to make it Really look like a book :). The cover and back pages are from Graphic 45 Mon amour collection and so are the stickers. Papers on the inside are from Recollections. Made an accordion fold heart which I learned to make through an amazing video. Glued a clay piece on the spine. I had thought of glueing clay corners but forgot and instead put lace on the edges. Many a  time I end up ruining the project because of my forgetfulness.

Quilling Typography Holi Canvas with Quilled Water Gun

Made this Quilling Typography canvas today. I wanted to finish it quickly as Holi is coming. It falls on 13th March this year. Took me two days to finish it. Got the idea of putting water guns later. The quilled water guns cover the blank space nicely, me thinks. The word Holi is quilled in Hindi, my mother tongue.

Those blog friends, who don't know what Holi is, it is an Indian Festival generally celebrated in Macrh-April after harvest. Holi is called Festival of Colors. People chase and colour each other with dry colour powder and water. Kids throw water balloons on each other and get their water guns out few days well in advance. Holi is a festival full of life and laughter.

Quilling Typography Sheetal's Nook

I am on a roll now a days. Making lots of quilled flowers. Quilling is definitely time consuming. But also therapeutic and calming. I have learned so many different crafts in the last ten years, but Quilling remains my first love. Though I have to confess that I am a slow learner :) I want to learn quillography too. I first Tried quillography when I made a scrapbook for my Parents' Anniversary. Then I attempted to make the cover of my facebook profile. There are many great tutorials on internet teaching Quillography. The one which I found useful is by Discover Quilling. Following is the quillography that I did for my Facebook Page.

My First Mini Album ( Shabby Chic!)........ Pat on the Back

This post is for Lulupu craft challenge for the month of May. I wanted to try my hand on mini albums so I thought to join in the fun. Not that I have much experience of making 12 x 12 albums. My first and only attempt till date at scrapbooking was when I made an album for my parents' anniversary. What I dread in making albums, is how to fill space. In that sense, mini albums pose less risk 😊.

So here is my mini album. As shabby chic is my current obsession, I have tried to infuse shabby chicness in it.

The ribbon roses are made by me. Chipboard frame is from hobbycraft which I distressed with vintage photo and then spread glossy accent over it.
1st page and the facing page

The laces used on both the pages were bought from Kinari bazar, Delhi. The journaling is from La De Doh collection.

2nd page and facing page

I used Prima fairy belle for background which coincidently matches with my daughter's pose. The metallic butterfly is a broken brooch. And the circle on which it is sitting, is again a Prima paper laminated and crocheted by me.

The green flowers on the facing page were made using a 5 petal punch

I tried to create a mini album inside the mini album, but forgot that it will dangle helplessly every time we open the album. So had to glue Velcro to cover that slip.

3rd page and facing page

The big fabric flower has been made by me, including the pink crochet circle. Bronze cameo is handmade in air drying clay and then painted in acrylic color.

The memories frame is from MME collection
                                                                                                                                                                                       4 and facing page

How can anything be complete without a touch of quilling! I quilled these flowers in pastel tone to match with the shabby theme.

Last page

This is again an attempt at another mini album. The fabric flower is handmade by me. So is the stick pin. Lipstick and mirror stamp is from imaginisce.

Thank you for taking time to visit my blog. All the best to  other participants of the challenge.
