I Have Been Busy

I haven't posted here for a while now. I have been busy though. I have made lots of quilled flowers and quilled cards ( 3 to be precise). I made a pencil holder and decorated it with quilled flowers. I also cut some fabric scrap and pasted it on paper. I haven't yet decided how I am going to use them in my cards. What else did I do? Oh, yes I made six drawings/ sketches and got them photocopies. I would be using them to make toppers for my cards. I haven't done any post because I don't have my camera with me. I so want to take pictures of all the stuff that I have made. I have asked my husband to borrow one from his friend until we get our own.

Craft Exchange: A Fun Concept

Today, while stumbling, I chanced upon this site which provides a platform for craft persons to send and receive handicrafts to/from each other. The idea is like trading cards. You are given an address, you have to post the handmade gift within a month. Some one out there will be making a gift specially for you. I liked the idea so much that I immediately applied to join. I am thinking of making a quilled greeting card, as they seem to be the flavor of the season for me. Here is the link to the handmade gift exchange.

Hallelujah! Comleted First Quilling Project

Technically speaking it's not my first quilling project. I made a quilled birthday card for my brother-in law last year. But that was so long ago that I forgot all I had learned about quilling. So this recent quilling project should be considered my first. This one is also a quilled birthday card. This time I have made it for my brother. It is a simple quilled greeting card . I hope he likes it. I should have done something to outline the borders. But I didn't get the time to decorate the card. The weekends are a big mess and chaos. Instead of getting any help from hubby dear, I get carried away in all the hoopla that he makes with kids.

Made My First Quilling Design in a Year

I am obsessed with quilling now a days.Made two simple designs for beginners. One is a bird and other is a simple quilling design. I made these quilling designs after putting my kids to bed. It is totally impossible even to think about doing any quilling while my little one is awake. He is 9 months now and very active. My daughter likes to do anything and everything. She is much interested in 'make-it' activities. I bought her a groovy gift kit today. She wanted to make things right away. She has lots of ideas where creativity is concerned and she is only four and a half years.
